About Us
Our history
The Colby Jay Kent Foundation was formed shortly after Colby's transition to Heaven on June 23rd., 2013. We have hosted four highly successful golf tournaments, auctions with meals and dancing, and a Casino Night to raise funds to further assist the higher education for our youth in La Vernia, Texas. To date our Foundation has donated $100,000.00 in assistance to La Vernia Christian Youth Groups, La Vernia Youth Show Animal Projects, and graduating seniors from La Vernia ISD. These monetary donations have been made possible with the local support of area businesses and many of Colby's friends with the intent to carry on Colby's legacy in supporting our youth of La Vernia.
Our mission
The mission of the Colby Jay Kent Foundation is to give strength and courage to those affected by the loss of a loved one; to keep Colby's spirit strong and ever present to strengthen his memory in the community. The Foundation was created to make donations to various charitable organizations, individuals with needs, and to provide scholarship support to students who best exemplify the outstanding qualities exhibited by Colby during his time on Earth. The Colby Jay Kent Foundation was created by friends and family in the hopes that his name will live on through the works of those closest to him.
